Investigative Producer

Duties

• Manages investigative journalism packages and helps guide a team of investigative reporters.
• Decides what stories to pursue and how to report fairly, ethically and legally.
• Helps write stories for both on air and online, collaborating with upper management to minimize negative blowback on the station.
• Works with the creative services team to package and promote stories, and understands how additional visual elements and support materials can elevate a story.
• Develops contacts within the community who can contribute leads and information for stories.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills.

Experience Level

• A bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communications or a related field. A law degree is a plus.
• A proven track record at a broadcast television station.
• Prior experience working in the legal profession is a plus.
