Senior Staff Accountant

Duties

• Supports the corporate accounting department in various tasks related to the monthly accounting close process including the analysis of financial performance.
• Reviews station budgets.
• Prepares monthly expenditure reports.
• Ensures compliance with best practices and performs other accounting functions to assist with the monthly close process.
• May oversee the staff accountant(s).

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented individuals with strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of financial principles.

Experience Level

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Corporate accounting experience or financial analysis in the broadcast industry and/or a public company environment preferred.

Station size determines whether an accounting department is headed by a senior staff accountant (or senior accounting manager) who reports to the controller and also manages staff accountants.
